Purpose of Our Forum
At Childcare Centre Desktop we are dedicated to supporting our Members as they provide a vital service to their communities. The Forum is designed to develop and maintain a friendly online community where Members can interact and have discussions about different topics relevant to the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Sector. Topics may be about programming and planning, tips and tricks, lesson plans, incursion and excursion ideas, ECEC qualifications and studies etc.
When users register to join The Forum, they agree to abide by these Guidelines and Terms of Use of the Forum and Childcare Centre Desktop website. These Guidelines are designed to ensure the promotion of productive conversations, a safe place for people to share and view information and a useful tool toassist in the day-to-day questions that may arise when you are part of the ECEC industry.
These Guidelines are enforced by Childcare Centre Desktop Administrators and Moderators, and at their discretion they may delete or move posts without warning that do not comply. Failure to comply with these Guidelines may result in a Forum Member being barred from entry or participation in the Forum and the deletion of their account. Please note that Childcare Centre Desktop has the right to reproduce or use postings to this forum.
Content Which Is Not Permitted
1. No SPAM
  Forum Members must refrain from using signatures, new topics, or responses to existing topics as a venue to promote their own products or services. Similarly, any thread that offers any service for money can be closed/removed at any time.
2. No Sexual Content, inappropriate or defamatory content
  Any thread or post that that contains the following content may be closed/removed at any time;
  - Contains disrespectful or derogatory remarks about any person
  - Contains advice or content that we believe is damaging, unhelpful or distressing to others
  - Contains swearing or offensive language, is nonsensical and/or irrelevant
  - Promotes personal beliefs in a way that is disrespectful of the choices of others
  - Is racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit or suggestive, abusive or otherwise discriminatory or objectionable
  - Content that infringes someone else's copyright or intellectual property rights
  - False information about a person or business that causes harm to their reputation
3. No sharing of Childcare Centre Desktop materials
  Access to the information on the Childcare Centre Desktop website is restricted to registered members of the website. Forum Members may not post, share, link to or otherwise publish this content on the Forum. In addition, and as per the licence permissions in Childcare Centre Desktop Terms of Use, Forum Members may not share their username and password details for the Childcare Centre Desktop website to other Forum Members.
4. Private contact details and information
  Posts and threads on the forum will contain information valuable and helpful to all members. Taking the discussion offline and private via requesting other Forum Members personal contact details is not permitted. We ask that you do not post your private contact details nor ask other Forum Members for their private contact details. Please also do not post another person's private information (job, gender, living situation, location, etc).
Member and User Expectations
- Forum Members are expected to be kind, helpful, courteous and respectful. Other Members may have an opinion different to yours and we ask that you refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.
- Beyond just seeking solutions, users are encouraged to help others. If you know the answer to someone else's question, please contribute to the post. Sharing your knowledge may be useful or interesting to the community. Provide sources e.g., Regulation Number or Relevant Section of the Law.
- Stay on topic. When creating a new discussion thread, give a clear topic title and put your post in the appropriate category. When contributing to an existing discussion, try to stay 'on topic'. If something new comes up within a topic that you would like to discuss, start a new thread.
- Post in the appropriate place. To assist in keeping the Forum discussions organised, when creating a new post/thread, please try to do so under the appropriate topic heading. Our Forum administrators and moderators will move a post/thread if they deem it to be in the wrong place.
- No trolling. Attempts to disrupt normal on-topic discussion with off-topic comments in a sole effort to bait, irritate and cause disruption will not be tolerated. If you notice someone's attempt at trolling, do not take the bait and ruin the conversation for everyone else.
- Do not create multiple accounts. Each Forum Members may register for and manage only one account. When one Member masquerades under different accounts it compromises the integrity of discussions on the Forum. Therefore, if a Member account is identified as having multiple accounts, it will be banned immediately.
- Linking to external products/services/websites. If you provide a link to an external site, please disclose whether or not you have a relationship with the brand or external party
- Proper grammar. Please refrain from 'text-message' style substitutions of words like 'u' for 'you', and 'ur' for 'your'. This will keep the Forum easy to read, for every Forum Member.
- Questions regarding Course Homework or Tasks. If you have questions regarding homework, Forum Members and/or administrators and moderators, will only help you with general concepts. Please do not try to find a complete solution or answer. Please refrain from linking or attaching complete answers to these questions. It is more helpful to "point someone in the right direction" rather than doing the assignment question for them.
Copyright
We ask that any Forum Member posting material onthe Forum ensures that they have copyright clearance prior to doing so. Childcare Centre Desktop do not accept responsibility for copyright breaches of the material posted by Forum Members. Our administrators will endeavour to ensure that any material, links and images uploaded to the site comply with copyright law however, it is the Forum Member's responsibility to ensure they do not post/publish copywritten material, as set out above.
Reporting to Forum Moderator
Should you notice content which breaches our Guidelines we ask that you assist us by reporting the inappropriate content to us. To do this please email forum@thedesktop.com.au
