New Transportation requirements for centre-based services come into effect 1st March 2023

*Services who offer transportation; What procedures do you have in place to always ensure the safety of children and staff? Have you reviewed your policies and procedures to ensure they align with the updated transportation requirements.
Changes to the regulations and policy include:
• New services must notify the Regulatory Authority that the Service will provide or arrange transportation as part of the service approval application
• The service must notify the Regulatory Authority within seven (7) days if there is a change to the regular transportation provided or arranged by the service, including if the regular transportation is no longer provided
• Ensuring a second person (other than the driver) is present as children embark and disembark from the vehicle at the service
Records must be kept:
• which confirm how each child was accounted for as they embarked and disembarked from the vehicle at the service
• which states how each child has been accounted for as they embarked and disembarked from the vehicle at the service
confirming a check of the vehicle, including the interior, was conducted to ensure no child is left on the vehicle
