What are the most popular areas where your team benefits from further professional development? Do you do study tours? Do they need support in managing difficult behaviour etc?

A main request for professional development is support with additional needs and behaviours. We have also had an interest in Indigenous perspectives and implementation and find that having this as an in-person training is the most influential.

We have a big interest with behaviour management training but we are struggling at the moment to find providers and organisations that are offering this. Would love if everyone could share where they have completed training?

Tanya Hi Tanya, previously we have reached out to allied health professionals - speechys, OTs ect… to come and do group training nights with educators to build their knowledge base and give them strategies. It is also a great way to connect with the local services within the community.

Not sure what your Service type is, however, at my last Service we would book customised training (on a topic of our choice) through Network of Community Activities (peak body for OSHC).. We also attended Sue Larkey PD and always found them to be beneficial. https://suelarkey.com.au/
